Update on Covid-19 and the impact on funerals

We need to keep you updated on the fast-moving situation with regard to the way we are having to change how we do funerals.

We provide a vital service and will continue to deliver the best care we can, with due regard to the stringent government guidelines, and the health and safety of everyone involved.

Our Branches

Our branches are operating on a ‘closed door’ policy and we are not able to receive visitors.  Please call or e-mail your local branch for guidance

Arranging a Funeral

We are operating under very strict guidelines to protect our staff and our clients.  All arrangements will be done by telephone or e-mail. Please be aware that we are unable to supply flowers at this time. All donations should be made online via our website www.hunnaball.co.uk.

We cannot accept any cash donations.  To observe safe social distancing, we have withdrawn the use of limousines.  There are also changes to certification, registration and cremation documentation.  This will all be explained in detail to you by your funeral arranger.

Clergy and Celebrants

Our local clergy and celebrants remain available to officiate at the funeral service. Your funeral arranger will advise you on local availability.

Viewing the Deceased

Our chapels of rest will, for the time being, remain open.  However, we advise that we can only permit 2 persons to visit the chapel; and we also respectfully request that you limit your attendance to one visit per family.  This is so we can keep you, your family and our staff as safe as possible. We will also use personal protection as required in a discreet and sensitive manner.

Funeral Services

All local crematoria, cemeteries and churches have restricted the numbers of mourners attending funerals.  Some cemeteries are closed to visitors, except for funeral services. Your local branch has all the up to date information. On the day of the funeral, we will be observing all safe-distancing and hygiene measures.  Our staff will be kept to the minimum level possible to carry out their duties. Sterile gloves will be worn to minimise the risk of spreading infection.

Memorials

Our memorial department is closed until further notice.  We are still able to offer a reduced service for the removal of existing memorials for the purpose of burials.

For more detailed and specific information, please contact us and we will be able to explain everything to you.  We are all working very hard to ensure you receive the best service we can provide in these extremely challenging and uncertain times.

Bereavement Help

In addition to our usual bereavement support and guidance, we have put into place a team of professionals who are available to help you through your bereavement in these unprecedented and challenging times. Please, if you need to talk to someone, visit our website www.hunnaball.co.uk where you will find a contact form, or ask your local branch who will forward your enquiry to our team.  We are here to help.

We thank you for your trust in us, and for your understanding, patience, and co-operation.Trevor, Melanie, Saul, Chris, Polly and the Hunnaball team
