We have always been pro-active when it comes to training within our profession, and we organise visits to our branches for many different groups. Our 'Laying the Myths to Rest’ seminars have been very popular and well attended over the years, giving care professionals the opportunity to learn more about the work we do.
Melanie Hunnaball has been doing talks for many years to a wide range of clubs and organisations on the role of the lady funeral director, bringing a light touch and gentle humour to a sensitive subject.
David Hampton is our Training Manager, and is a qualified tutor for the Diploma in Funeral Service. He organises our staff training programme, as well as doing presentations to hospices, schools, care homes and health professionals.
We will be starting a series of ‘Laying the Myths to Rest’ sessions later in the year, and information can be found on our website when dates have been arranged.
If you are a member of a group which would like to arrange a visit then please telephone Julie Johnson on 01206 760049 or e-mail Julie by clicking here.

Over 80 delegates attended our Seminar ‘What happens after someone dies – Who cares?’ at the Colchester University Hospital Post Graduate Medical Centre.
Keynote speakers were Guy Singleton, Bereavement Services Manager at the hospital, and David Hampton, Training and Development Manager of the Hunnaball Family Funeral Group. The delegates represented a cross-section of the care sector, and had the opportunity to learn more about what happens after a death occurs.
It was also a good opportunity to chat to each other and exchange ideas and information about all aspects of end of life care.
David Hampton and Julie Johnson attended the Gilberd School, Colchester Careers Convention on 2nd October.
The evening was extremely well attended by students and parents who spent time discussing career options with many educational professionals and businesses who were there to give support and advice.
For a personal consultation, contact any of our branches and our trained staff will be happy to assist you.
